Alumni Spotlight: Young Alumni at Christchurch Girls' High School

The Selwyn House Alumni Association congratulates the following alumni on their recent accomplishments while attending Christchurch Girls' High School during the 2024 school year. Anika Bayley (Peer Year 2020) - During the 2024 Christchurch Girls' High School Prize giving, it was announced that Anika was awarded the co-title of Acacemic Prefect for the 2025 school year. She also received the Year 12 English Award. Annabel Hance (Peer Year 2020) - In 2024 she was a part of the 1st XI Hockey Team. The team placed third at the Federation Cup which was played in Hamilton this past September. Annabel Glasson (Peer Year 2020) - In 2024 she was a part of the 2nd XI Hockey Team. The team placed third at the Chris Arthur Cup which was played for this year in Dunedin. Annabel was awarded Most Improved Player in her team for the season. Evelyn King (Peer Year 2019) - CGHS Head Prefect 2024 and awarded Dux of the School 2024. She was awarded a University of Auckland Top Achiever Scholarship and a University of Otago Academic Excellence Entrance Scholarship. She has accepted a place at Auckland University. (Pictured below on the right) Sylvie King (Peer Year 2019) - CGHS Deputy Head Prefect 2024 and recipient of the Pam Neill Award for Community Service 2024. Sylvie was awarded a Massey University Undergraduate First Year Scholarship and has accepted a place at Massey University. (Pictured below on the left) The Alumni Association would also like to share the following message from Sylvie and Evelyn's parents, Natalie Buchanan and David King: "As parents, we firmly believe their time at Selwyn House gave them an exceptional foundation for high school, and thank all the teachers at Selwyn House once again."
