President Update: August 2024
Friday, 16 August 2024

On Friday the Selwyn House Alumni Association held the 95th Alumni Celebration. The atrium was full and the turnout is a testament to the strong bond shared with this incredible school. Guests enjoyed reconnecting, reminiscing, and celebrating our shared history.

It was wonderful to have alumni, current and former staff, and current and former board members in attendance. A few special guests included two old boys, Adrian Ramsay and Charlie Bennetto, Meg Anderson with her family, and Carolyn Fletcher. It was wonderful to have all of the decades represented!

There is a saying: "The footsteps we leave behind create the paving stones for tomorrow." Each of our alumni has left their mark at Selwyn House, contributing to its legacy and shaping it into what it is today. To celebrate this notion, we invited guests to add their fingerprint to a beautiful drawing of our former pear tree, created by Mrs. Peacock, which will be on display at the upcoming Art Show in September. There are still tickets available for this free event.

Over the years Selwyn House has evolved with new buildings, updated curriculum, and modern uniforms, but the sense of pride, community, and belonging remains unchanged. The school motto, "I am, I can, I ought, I will," still resonates through our halls.

Special thanks to our Principal, Julie Calder, for her leadership, and to Business Development and Marketing Manager Jennifer Shepherd for organising this event. I also appreciate our Alumni Committee and all who have contributed to making this evening possible. Without the support of the school's staff events like this would not be possible, thank you.
