Familiar Faces in the Alumni Community: Jennifer Shepherd & Laura Lawrence

![]() Jennifer Shepherd - Business Development & Marketing Manager, Selwyn House School Jennifer Shepherd has been with Selwyn House School since 2017 serving as the Business Development and Marketing Manager. In this role, she has worked closely with the Alumni President and the Alumni Committee to help strengthen connections, facilitate communication and organise events aimed at growing the alumni community. Jennifer is involved in her own alma maters' alumni networks and understands the importance of fostering strong connections among graduates, regardless of decade attended. Some of Jennifer's favourite Selwyn House alumni moments include hearing the lasting stories - some spanning as far back as 95 years - as well as reconnecting with younger alumni who, in particular were her Passion Project mentees or served as Communication Leaders in Year 8. Regardless of how paths have crossed, she loves seeing alumni realise that they are part of an amazing network and the exciting opportunities available for alumni give back to the current school community. Outside of Selwyn House School, Jennifer is an avid golfer, enjoys spending time with her family, and has most recently started to learn pickleball. She serves as a board of trustee for the MS & Parkinson's Canterbury. ![]() Laura Lawrence - Marketing and Community Coordinator, Selwyn House School Laura Lawrence joined the Selwyn House Team towards the end of 2024 . Since then her focus has been on keeping the community informed and connected as well as working on initiatives to enhance and further build the bonds within our community. She enjoys supporting our members to feel more connected to this special community. Laura brings with her a wealth of experience working for globally recognised companies Salesforce and Deloitte and has a strong professional background in relationship management, marketing and event creation. Laura says she has been drawn to the position at Selwyn House School, because of the human element, and the chance to generate outcomes that have a positive impact going forward. Laura is a dedicated and loving mother to her two young children and enjoys abstract painting. She has always had a love of learning and a strong respect for education. Laura is enjoying the opportunity to work in a school, where the focus is on supporting students past and present to exceed their potential. Selwyn House School is a very special community that both Jennifer and Laura feel privileged to now be a part of.
